Price: $500 at Circuitcity.com
Antenna: external
Screen: : 4.3-inch
Live traffic: from Clear Channel; $60 a year after one-year trial
Extras: Full voice recognition; Bluetooth connectivity
Grade: CUnit DriveabilityNot as user-friendly - the main menu is spread over three screens. You're supposed to be able to plug in an address by saying it, but on the first unit we tested this didn't work.
Road TestROUTE: Again, mostly solid choices, and you can get map updates from other users.
TRAFFIC: Comparable to other units, but it has an external antenna, which can be a pain to set up.
OverallEven with working voice recognition, it doesn't compare to Garmin and Magellan. On the plus side, you can make John Cleese your prerecorded navigator for a fee.
