The front seats of the Caprice PPV are sculpted to allow for a police officer's bulky equipment belt. Special seat foam is also used to allow the seat to mold itself more comfortably around the equipment belt.
Engineers installed various prototype seats into existing police vehicles in order to get feedback from working police officers.
Heavy-duty materials are used throughout the car. Everything in the car is also designed for quick cleaning.
Side impact airbags are available for the front seats only. That allows the barrier behind the front seats to stretch the full width of the car, providing more security for the officers in the front.
The rear seating area has been designed as a "virtual prisoner cell" with special attention given to eliminating any possible hiding places for weapons.
