Antebellum history
Finally, get out of town to The Hermitage, President Andrew Jackson's antebellum plantation. The mansion has been meticulously restored to its 1837 appearance. Costumed historical interpreters are stationed throughout the grounds, which include formal gardens, Jackson's tomb and the original slave quarters.
