One of the travelers on the Scotland voyage was Jonathan Calvert, a semi-retired 78-year-old financial services entrepreneur who has traveled with Malver's company to Antarctica, Russia and the Bering Sea.
Despite the physical challenges, lugging kayaks over rocks and paddling through windy waters appeals to Calvert. His view: "I'm not interested in sitting around on the beach."
