The Sebring was universally derided but the critics agree, the new version, now called the 200, is much better.
The question remains: Is it better enough? And the answer, so far, seems to be "Probably not."
"It's just not competitive against stuff like the Hyundai Sonata and the Ford Fusion," said Jonny Leiberman of Motor Trend.
Still, the critics say the improvements are real and the new 200 at least rates consideration.
"It's gone from being a perennial joke to being a reasonable choice," said Car & Driver editor-in-chief Eddie Alterman.
Plus, Alterman said, Chrysler made these improvements without raising the price.
