Unlike some of the other vehicles' in the Chrysler Group line-up, the Dodge Charger and the closely related Chrysler 300 had already been slated for major makeovers this year. Just about everything has been changed and the critics are impressed.
Where the old Charger was a powerful but heavy-feeling car, the new one has a lighter feel.
"Before it was a big lug and a mess on back roads," said Erin Ryches of the auto Web site Edmunds.com, "but now it's quite nimble."
The car's ride quality is also much improved, she said.
Like the rest of the Chrysler's new line-up, the interior is much better than in the previous version.
"The Charger is so much tighter, so much more evolved," said Eddie Alterman of Car & Driver
