The new Grand Cherokee is already on the market and selling well. The improved interior has been garnering universal praise. The soft-touch materials inside the new Grand Cherokee are a big improvement over the old hard, scratchy interior.
"There's a real respect for the customer that wasn't there before," said Eddie Alterman of Car & Driver magazine of the new interior quality on all the 2011 Chrysler vehicles.
The Grand Cherokee also gets high points for on-road performance, especially in a vehicle that offers real off-road capability.
One flaw in the Grand Cherokee may be its five-speed transmission in an era when smoother six-speed transmissions have become common. Chrysler Group is putting the finishing touches on a new eight-speed transmission that's expected to replace it soon, though.
