Head of supply-chain management, chief sustainability officer
Siemens
2009 rank: 6
Country: Germany

Kux, 56, has delivered big on her green promise: Kux's environmental portfolio last year produced revenue of $34 billion, almost one-third of the company's total.

Kux is the first female to serve on Siemens board -- indeed she is the first female board member of any German DAX 30 company. She marked another milestone in May 2010, when she inked Siemens' first global eco-friendly partnership with India's Tata Group, to green India's buildings and production sites.

With a procurement budget of $56 billion for 2010, Kux is pushing Siemens' supply chain to go 100% green. The company is investing up to $140 million over the next two years to make its own factories greener. Under Kux, the company has bagged the number one place in its industry for the second time in a row in the Dow Jones sustainability ranking. Kux is aiming at more than $37 billion in green revenues (25 billion Euros) by end 2010, one year ahead of her own target.
