Tashia Johnson-St.Clair was a forklift driver at Delphi before taking a $40,000 buyout in 2009.
With $12,000 in savings, she opened Sweet Poppins in March of this year just north of town. In July, she moved downtown to take advantage of the incentives.
Now she spends her days turning out candied popcorn in flavors such as blueberry, strawberry and lemon pound cake.
"God showed me the recipe in a dream," she said from behind the counter. "I've truly been blessed."
