Investment-quality 2007 California Cabernets have such great buzz that they're overshadowing the nearly-as-good 2006 vintage -- leading some vendors to cut prices as much as 30% on excellent wines from that year, according to Trey Beffa of K&L Wine Merchants (klwines.com).
You can pick up 10 bottles of 2006 Dominus Cabernet Sauvignon (which got an impressive 96 points from famed rater Robert Parker) or 2006 Groth Reserve Cabernet Sauvignon (95 points from Wine Spectator) for less than a grand.
