How much should you tip?
The economy may rise and fall, but it turns out that holiday tips remain remarkably stable. So how much is the right amount?
What readers say: MONEY readers say they plan to give $20 in 2010 -- the same amount they did in 2007.
The right way: According to Post, that is the correct amount but it needs to be non-cash. "This is stipulated in the USPS gift regulation. Mail carriers are allowed to accept snacks and beverages or perishable gifts but no cash or gift cards."
Post, who usually gifts a little bag of chocolates, recommends a token gift up to about $20 in value, like a travel mug, hand warmers or baked goods.
