Before and after: Manhattan loft makeover

This had been a real problem area, forlorn and neglected, with a lack of coherency and a spindly spiral staircase with chipped paint. There was also a worn old couch shoved against the wall.

Vegas had the staircase repainted and retreaded and replaced the forlorn couch with a handsome, curved table borrowed from a friend. She topped it with a tall vase of flowers.

The flowers are reflected in a fancy mirror, which Vegas moved from another wall. This way, it also reflects the living room windows. "It brings in a ton of natural light," said Vegas.

The closet and bathroom door, once wood toned, were painted the same bright white as the walls so that they seem to recede away in the background.
