Karsan -- A factory grows in Brooklyn?

Karsan, a Turkish auto manufacturer, campaigned hard to be the Taxi of Tomorrow, even promising to be build a taxi factory in the New York City borough of Brooklyn.

Karsan's entry even won the popular vote. In a survey taken by the New York City Taxi and Limousine Commission, the Karsan V1 was by far the most popular design.
