Malinda Hodges loves scoring deals in large quantities.
Name: Malinda Hodges
Age: 41
Occupation: Business technology consultant
Hometown: Fort Mills, S.C.
Each week, Malinda Hodges buys six Sunday newspapers for the inserts, then matches the coupons with weekly sales at nearby retailers, some of which double or even triple the coupon value. It can be a lot of work -- about five hours a week -- but Hodges has cut her $300 weekly grocery bill in half.
"I plan meals around what's on sale," she says. "We don't stockpile like the people on the TV show," though she does admit to stashing away deodorant and toothpaste.
Like many serious couponers, Hodges loves scoring deals in large quantities so that she can give extras to family, friends, and fellow church members. "It's a way to be a blessing to other people."
