Hometown: New York City
Age: 40
Was: Graphic artist
Why I did it: "I found myself unhappy doing other people's work," LeBow recalls. "The pivotal moment was when I was working on an advertisement for cigarettes, and I said to myself, `What am I doing with my life?' I'd rather be helping people than hurting people."
How I did it: Quitting his job to go back to school was a hard decision, says LeBow. But his family was behind him.
"With their encouragement and support, I went to Fordham University for two years. Now I'm a licensed clinical social worker and recently just started my own practice."
Why I love it: "The work I do is 100 times more fulfilling. The job is 10 times harder than I thought it would be, but it's so rewarding. When you have a client come up to you and say, 'Thank you for saving my life,' there's nothing else like it."
