China's domestic tourism boom

The average annual number of domestic tourists that traveled around China increased by 11.7% in 2010, reaching 21 million. And national revenue from that domestic tourism increased by 18.9%, reaching 1.26 trillion yuan, or about $194 billion. Overnight hotel stays, another indicator of domestic tourism, have also steadily climbed from 369,000 in 2005 to 439,717 in 2009 (most recent data).
