Best golf courses for CEOs
Mark Twain may have said "golf is a good walk spoiled," but many corporate CEOs disagree. Here's where they like to bat around a 1.6-ounce ball.
Par: 72
Length: 6,700 yards
"I just returned from a wonderful visit to Bandon Dunes," said William Lauder, CEO of Estee Lauder Companies, the cosmetics company, "and all of the world class golf courses on the remote and beautiful Oregon Coast. It is a special place just for golf and the elements as the game was meant to be played."
This is a "links" course located a couple of hours southwest of Eugene, Ore., on the wild Pacific Coast. Players compare it to the seaside courses in the United Kingdom, with its sand dunes, gorse and ocean-side fairways, according to a course spokesman James Turner.
There's overnight lodging, restaurants and three other courses on the property.
