Locately
This Boston start-up specializes in what it calls "Location Analytics," the study of mobile data from participating cell phone users. By tracking real-time data, as opposed to just user check-ins or customer surveys, Locately argues companies will get a clearer picture about the daily habits of users, where they shop, and which factors may affect them during the decision-making process.
For online advertisers, such data could prove extremely valuable, particularly as location-based ad campaigns ramp up over the next few years -- according to ABI Research, businesses will spend $1.8 billion on location-based advertising in 2015.
