For those of you who thought mainframes went the way of the punch card, well, you're not far off. Mainframe sales made up less than a quarter of all server sales last year, according to IDC.

But IBM keeps trucking along. In fact, Big Blue dominates the mainframe market with about a 90% share, bringing in $11 billion in sales in 2009.
