The first several Apple products I bought really didn't impress me. The iPod Touch was nothing more than a glorified PDA, so I sold it after two months. Then I tried two different Mac Minis -- the first ran OS X and the second ran Leopard -- but they weren't as easy to use as Windows.
My fourth device was the iPad, which was just an average device; not magical or revolutionary, but rather a large iPod Touch. I liked some apps on the platform, like Pages and Keynote, but I decided to sell it. The fifth was a 2008 MacBook Pro, which I bought to learn how to repair Apple laptops. I restored it to a good degree, but I really wanted the more portable MacBook Air. So I sold the Pro.
My final trip into the world of Apple has been my favorite: the MacBook Air 2011. This is the first version of OS X that I believe compares with Windows in terms of usability and features. I honestly believe that I will be keeping this little laptop for quite some time, as it really is an excellent little workhorse.
I disagree with many of the iOS decisions that Steve Jobs has made in the past two years, but I really do like their new line of computers. I couldn't ask for a better system than Lion; it's smooth, intuitive and an all-around pleasure to use.
