Subaru's new compact crossover is based on the recently redesigned Impreza car. This version has 8.7 inches of ground clearance which, Subaru boasts, is more than most other crossovers.
The Crosstrek is powered by a 148 horsepower 2.0-liter engine and it's available with either a five-speed manual or continuously variable automatic transmission.
It should get EPA estimated 25 miles per gallon in the city and 33 on the highway, Subaru says. (Manufacturers usually don't release fuel economy estimates for cars that aren't on the market yet, so you won't see figures like this for most vehicles in this gallery.)
