Bentley is celebrating the 60th anniversary of Queen Elizabeth II's reign with this special edition version of its large Mulsanne sedan. There will be, appropriately, 60 of these cars built all of which will be sold in China.
Each headrest in the car will have gold embroidery. The rear picnic tables and the dashboard panel that hides the navigation screen sport gold leaf renditions of the royal carriage.
China is now Bentley's largest single market with the British luxury automaker having sold over 1,600 cars there last year. This is despite the fact that the Mulsanne, for instance -- a car that sells for prices starting just under $300,000 in the U.S. -- starts at about $850,000 in China. That's because high fees and taxes China places on imported cars, a spokeswoman for Bentley said.
Prices for this particular model, which will presumably be higher, have not been announced yet.
