Newly reenergized, VW saw its sales jump 35% in March on the strength of just one sedan, the compact Passat (above). How much more can the European powerhouse grow as it adds dealers and fills out its product line? Perhaps its target of 800,000 cars per year in the U.S. by 2018 isn't so far out of line after all.
