Now: Head recruiter at ATS
Holly Mosack is a former Army captain who was running convoys to Baghdad, delivering mail and repairing infrastructure. When she left the military and returned to the U.S., she found that "coming back was a huge challenge."
She realized that many veterans feel this way when they return to the civilian world, "where nobody really knows what you did at war." So, as head recruiter at Advanced Technology Services in Peoria, Il., Mosack seeks out veterans. She said their war experience and "can-do attitude" tends to make them particularly resourceful. If they don't have the right skills, she helps them get into a training program on the GI Bill.
Her goal is not only to match veterans with jobs, but to make them feel less alienated in the civilian world. "ATS is provides a sense of military community," she said.
