Studying in the evenings
Jameyka Davis, 22
Augusta, Ga.

After a year of looking for a job, I gave up last month.

I'm a full-time student, completing my bachelors in criminal justice in the evenings. Up until last year, I had a good full-time job during the days, working at a call center.

But I was laid off when I was pregnant, and now with a six-month old baby, me and my boyfriend can't afford the day care.

I stay at home with the baby, and then when his dad comes home, I leave at about 5 p.m. to go to school.

I'll start searching again when I graduate in December, but if I have the same bad luck, I'll probably sign up for grad school instead.
