This house may be too small -- and too far from the city -- to be right for everyone, according to Dick Phinney, the listing agent for the property. But it has some attractive features for a home so reasonably priced for the Boston metro area, one of the most expensive in the nation.
One thing is the location in Weymouth, south of the city. "It has a country feel," said Phinney. "It's very quiet, considering how close it is to Boston."
There's a view of a small pond and lots of trees in the neighborhood. It's also close to a commuter rail line that gets commuters to Boston's South Station in a little over 30 minutes.
Inside, is a nice-sized kitchen, a separate dining room, and a small living room. Sliding glass doors lead to a big deck.
But even these prices won't last long. According to Phinney, the area's market is rebounding, with sales on the rise and prices firming. During the fourth quarter of 2011, the median home price for the Boston metro area was $282,000.
