From Martha Stewart to Wall Street hedge fund kings, there have been a number of high-profile convictions related to insider trading.
The giant hedge fund, managed by star trader and namesake Steven A. Cohen, pleaded guilty to failing to prevent its employees' insider trading activity and paid a record $1.8 billion fine as part of its settlement with federal prosecutors. Banned from managing money from outside investors, it has since been renamed Point72 and mostly manages Cohen's large fortune. SAC employees Mathew Martoma and Michael Steinberg were the only two of eight employees facing criminal charges to plead not guilty. Both have been convicted. Cohen has not been charged criminally for the scandal, but he is facing civil charges.
