Investors did more than just tap the brakes on Ford shares at the end of September.
The auto maker's stock tumbled 7% on Monday after issuing a bleak profit warning amid troubles overseas and recalls at home.
For the month, Ford (F) plunged 15%, making it one of the worst performers on the S&P 500.
Still, as the No. 2 U.S. auto maker and a company with fewer liabilities than General Motors (GM), Ford clearly remains popular among American investors.
