ISIS wasn't on anyone's radar a year ago but the terrorist group is now casting a cloud over the global landscape.
While the U.S.-led air campaign has blunted ISIS's land grab in Iraq, the group is still very much alive.
"They pose an enormous threat to stability for neighboring countries like Jordan, Lebanon, Saudi Arabia and Turkey," said Moran.
There's also the risk that fighters returning home to Europe, North America and other Western countries carry out terrorist attacks that cripple global travel and commerce. Those fears were underscored by the hostage situation in Sydney this week.
