In the search for the ideal job, these millennials job-hopped often in their teens and early twenties.
I work constantly now that I have graduated. I have a degree in business marketing from St. Johns University, and I'm currently an unpaid intern at Astralwerks Records. I also work at The Meatball Shop in Williamsburg, Brooklyn every single day that I'm not at the internship.
I've been with Astralwerks for over a year and a half, and I get a lot of responsibilities here. I work with some really talented people and I'm hands on with every single project, marketing for cool bands. I never got coffee for anyone.
In my earlier jobs, I learned to do a task and build relationship skills. At age 13, I was a golf caddy in a very affluent town, and I was already networking at that age. Later, I would deliver pizzas and establish friendships that way.
At the Meatball Shop, I'm constantly networking. I do takeouts, and I probably interact with 100 to 200 people a day, making sure their food comes out great. I recently met a developer at Google and somebody from JPMorgan.
My father wants me to be a lawyer or work in finance. I really just want to market for a brand that I love. Some of my favorite brands include Uniqlo, Levis, Burberry, MTV, New York Knicks, Madison Square Garden and Timberland.
I would really like to start as an assistant and work my way up. That would be ideal.
