Some consumers are boycotting Hyundai, Samsung and LG Display because they are based in South Korea, where dog and cat meat are consumed.
A petition that has gained more than 30,000 supporters calls on South Korean leaders to crack down on the torture and consumption of dogs and cats.
"Please hear the haunting cries of these animals," the petition urges. "Take up your position as a moral leader of your citizens not only for the animal's sake but for your country as well and ban the torture and consumption of dogs and cats today."
Hyundai declined to comment on the petition, while Samsung and LG didn't respond to a request for comment.
