Simple
Simple wants to be a one-stop alternative to a traditional bank.
Simple aims to roll banking and high-tech money-management services into one eay-to-use package.
The company combines a low-fee online bank account and Visa debit card with financial analysis tools similar to those offered by Mint.com (Your funds are stored in a partner bank.)
You can use Simple's website and iPhone or Android app to set goals and create a budget.
The service also provides a real-time "safe to spend" figure, which it calculates by weighing your bills and savings targets against your current balance.
Simple does have its flaws. While users can withdraw cash from an Allpoint network ATM for free, they do pay to use any other bank's machines.
And as with any change of banks, you'll need to uproot your finances to try it. So far, more than 100,000 people have done so.
If you like the tech tools and are comfortable with the tradeoffs of using an online-only bank, you may want to give Simple a shot.
