What makes it so great?
Nation’s fifth-largest retail mortgage lender will move its headquarters this spring to downtown Detroit from the suburbs. The move, which will affect 1,700 employees, is owner Dan Gilbert’s idea.

A native of Detroit (and owner of the Cleveland Cavaliers), he wants to be part of efforts to revitalize the city. Quicken will pay parking fees for all employees who drive to work and will bump up paychecks to cover Detroit taxes.
