A weakened dollar helped international deliveries grow sharply. But risk of a recession stalled domestic growth for the nation's largest package delivery business.

"Brown" transports more than 15.6 million packages and business documents every day, helping it grow revenue by 7.5% last year. Labor troubles at FedEx and a restructuring at DHL, the company's two biggest rivals, also helped boost U.S. sales. Last year, the company shifted 45,000 workers to a new pension plan, resulting in a $6 billion charge that helped cut profit by 91%.
