Weston boasts a 42,500-square-foot YMCA, an extensive network of bike paths, two 18-hole golf courses, well-known local athletic leagues, and the sunny (but humid) Florida weather necessary to enjoy them throughout the year. The city's affluent residents are so devoted to their outdoor activities that many aspects of Weston's community life, like the athletic leagues, are run by volunteers. The downside comes when it's time to focus on work: Residents face a lengthy commute to Fort Lauderdale and Miami. --E.R.
