Natural beauty abounds: The town boasts a pond, a lake, and 1,500 acres of recreation and conservation land. Windham has a quiet town center with little commercial development and relies on the amenities of neighboring Salem. The town's first high school just opened its doors in 2009 and has earned good reviews. --K.F.
