While many small towns are struggling financially, Ellisville is in the black.
Many residents commute to jobs in St. Louis, 45 minutes east. Schools are well-regarded, and the town has a new community pool and eight parks linked by an extensive trail system. A program called the "Great Streets Initiative" plans to build more efficient roadways linking Ellisville with five neighboring communities, making the area more pedestrian-friendly. Good thing, considering that the two state highways that bisect town carry significant amounts of traffic. --D.G. Is Ellisville a great town, or what?
