Five miles north of state capitol Madison, Waunakee has experienced considerable growth in recent years. No wonder: home prices are reasonable and the neighborhoods are friendly.
Residents flaunt their community spirit every July at Waunafest, a three-day festival of parades and petting zoos, beer tents and baseball tournaments. While the jobs picture in town isn't as rosy as those in some neighboring communities, the town is working on an economic development plan to change that. --D.G. Is Waunakee a great town, or what?
