Commuters have a short drive to Indianapolis from this town, which is intersected by three major highways and lies eight miles west of the city. Low crime and good schools are major draws. Brownsburg’s schools regularly rank in the state’s top quartile, and a Challenger Learning Center provides students with advanced science and technology equipment. Auto racing is big here: O’Reilly Raceway Park hosts various races and NASCAR events. Speaking of cars, traffic in the area can be a problem, but the town recently built a new bypass to help relieve rush-hour congestion. --D.B.
