Alexander Outerbridge (far left), blender and bottling manager at the time, and Donald Speedon (far right), Gosling's longest-serving non-family employee, stand in the bottling plant. Speedon joined the company as a teenager, retired at 65, and according to Gosling never took a sick day. Back then, Gosling explains, most bottles were washed, scrubbed, and then reused, which accounts for the heavy bibs on workers.
