High price: Cunard Eastbound Transatlantic Crossing

The Queen Mary 2 departs from New York and docks in Southampton, England, a jumping-off point for Bath and Stonehenge. Cunard offers an elegant British experience, with afternoon tea and onboard nannies, but its seven-night sailings start at $1,295 per person vs. $2,500 and up for other luxury lines.

Low price: Holland America Alaska Itinerary

Known for being family friendly, Holland America offers great rates for children in four-person cabins. For a seven-night June sailing to Alaska -- leaving from Seattle and making stops in Juneau and Glacier Bay -- rates start at $1,099 each for the first two adults, and two children are only $199 each.

Tip: A travel agent, while not necessary for securing discounts on most trips, can still help you get the best deals on cruises. Find one at cruising.org.
