A whopping 87% of the analysts who cover largest U.S. life insurer have endorsed its stock with a "buy" rating, up from 74% a year ago.
MetLife, which is fighting off efforts to name it to the "systemically important" list, revealed plans in recent months to buy back $1 billion of stock and hike its dividend 27%.
