recovery home prices

For middle-class Americans, a home is often a family's single largest asset, so when prices tanked from a median of $250,000 in the boom years to as low as $162,000 in early 2012, the ripple effects were felt throughout the U.S. economy.

Home prices have started to recover since then, with the median home price reaching $195,000 as of early 2014.
