To East Coasters, Greenwich is synonymous with luxury, and the town lives up to its reputation. It's home to four beaches, including the 147-acre Greenwich Point Beach, situated on a peninsula in the Long Island Sound. Though the vast cultural options of New York City are only an hour via train, many Greenwich residents work close to home in the plethora of hedge fund and financial firms based in the area. The price for this sweet lifestyle? High. Recently the median price of a home in Greenwich was almost $1.2 million. --D.M.
