In this Dallas/Fort Worth suburb, you’d never know there had been a recession. An increase in home values and a steady, strong economy keeps and attracts residents. Offices of Fidelity Investments and travel company Sabre Holdings, plus a new Deloitte training center (it hired 400 employees from within Keller and surrounding areas this year), lie just outside town. Texas has a gross receipts tax that is levied in addition to its 6.25% sales tax. It is called the franchise tax and the rate is 1% (.5% for retailers).
