NEW YORK (CNN/Money) -
Hollywood actress and HBO's "Sex and the City" star Sarah Jessica Parker will headline the 35th anniversary campaign for apparel retailer Gap Inc., the company said Wednesday.
Parker has been signed on to represent the brand in a series of print and TV ads that will appear throughout the rest of 2004, with the first campaign expected to debut in late August.
The company said Parker will be featured alone and in conjunction with other artists.

"Gap has always been about individual style, and no one represents this philosophy better than Sarah Jessica Parker," Gary Muto, president of Gap, said in a statement. "She looks as amazing in jeans as she does in couture. And no matter what she's wearing, she always adds her own style and flair."
Parker joins a long list of celebrities that have appeared in the retailer's marketing campaigns in the past, including Madonna and rap star Missy Elliot, who were featured together in the fall campaign last year for the Gap brand.
Parker starred as couture-loving columnist Carrie Bradshaw, an independent, single woman living in New York City in "Sex and the City.' The HBO series ended its six-season run in February.
Gap Inc. (GPS: Research, Estimates) declined to comment on further details of the venture. Parker's representatives were not immediately available for comment.
