Reebok's Iverson toddler shoe which is being recalled. |
NEW YORK (CNN/Money) - Reebok International is recalling about 140,000 pairs of "Iverson/Answer" toddler shoes due to a choking hazard posed to young children.
A statement from the Consumer Product Safety Commission, which announced the recall of the shoe named after Philadelphia 76ers basketball star Allen Iverson, said the shoes have a logo-tag on the tongue of the shoe that can be peeled off and cause a child to choke.
The commission said Reebok has received a report of an 8-month-old child mouthing the logo-tag, but that the tag was removed without injury. The tag reads "I3/Answer." The shoes come in toddler sizes 2 through 10.
The commission said that consumers should immediately take these shoes away from young children and contact Reebok to receive a refund.
