Greenspan book tops online chartsFormer Fed chairman's 'The Age of Turbulence' sells briskly upon release, topping Amazon.com and Barnes & Noble sales lists.NEW YORK (CNNMoney.com) -- Alan Greenspan's new book "The Age of Turbulence" topped best-seller lists on both Amazon.com and Barnes & Noble's Web site after its official Monday morning release. The book ranked No. 1 on both sites early Monday. Greenspan is scheduled to speak Monday at 7 pm ET at the Barnes & Noble (Charts, Fortune 500) store at Union Square in New York City. He is to speak for 10 minutes and then sign copies of the book. "We expect a very large crowd because of all the media coverage. There's huge interest in the book," said Mary Ellen Keating, a spokeswoman for Barnes & Noble. Greenspan is scheduled to sign copies of the book Tuesday at the Borders (Charts) books store in New York's financial district at noon EST. Greenspan was given an $8.5-million advance for the book by Penguin Press, according to the New York Times. On Amazon (Charts, Fortune 500), "The Age of Turbulence" was also the best seller in the Economic Theory section. |
