New T.M.X. Elmo has secret movesWhen posed and tickled in the right sequence, the new T.M.X. Elmo breaks out into a silly song, gets a case of the hiccups and reveals other surprises.NEW YORK (CNNMoney.com) -- Sporting a bright gold badge and packing hidden silly surprises, this year's T.M.X. Elmo is more "special" than last year's, Fisher-Price said Thursday. The T.M.X. Elmo eXtra Special Edition, a new version of the sensitive, furry red monster, falls to the floor laughing and kicking when tickled, just like its popular predecessor. But when kids play with the new Elmo, posing and tickling in the right sequence, he breaks out into secret new moves. Fisher-Price revealed two of the moves in an announcement Thursday of the plush doll's launch. A rhyming clue card that comes along with the new T.M.X. Elmo instructs kids to lift Elmo's arm in the air and tickle his belly to make him laugh, kick and sing. Encouraging kids to search for hidden moves, Fisher-Price said one sequence of moves gives Elmo a case of the hiccups, but did not disclose the posing and tickling sequence that causes it. The T.M.X. Elmo eXtra Special Edition will be available at retail stores nationwide on Nov. 13. The giddy plush doll will sell for $39.99, the same price as the original, but provide "twice the action, twice the fun" according to Fisher-Price, a subsidiary of Mattel (Charts, Fortune 500). This special edition Elmo will be available exclusively this holiday season, Fisher-Price said. |
