Ford re-recalling 225,000 vehiclesWiring harness repair needs to be re-done to fix fuse placement or faulty installation.NEW YORK (CNNMoney.com) -- Ford Motor Company is recalling 225,000 vehicles for a second time. The cars, trucks and SUVs are among 9.5 million vehicles that have been recalled since 1999 to fix a faulty cruise control switch. The automaker replaced wiring harnesses to fix a potential defect in an automatic cruise control switch. The original defect caused some vehicles to catch fire even when parked. In the 225,000 vehicles that are going to be recalled again, Ford said, the new wiring harnesses, themselves, need to be replaced. Ford (F, Fortune 500) sent a letter to dealers recently informing them that it intended to notify the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) of the need for a new recall. The company will begin notifying owners of affected vehicles in early February, said Ford spokesman Wes Sherwood. They include the following models:
